May 7, 2010: CHRISTUS ST. JOHN WELCOMES NEW DOCTOR TO CLEAR LAKE

“CHRISTUS St. John Hospital is pleased to announce that Frank J. Ponce, III, M.D., Family Medicine physician has joined the medical staff. Dr. Ponce, an associate of Clear Lake Family Physicians, LLP, who are celebrating their 20th year serving Clear Lake residents. His clinic is located on El Camino Real; and he sees patients from most major medical insurance plans, traditional Medicare and Texas Health Spring (a Medicare replacement plan).

Dr. Ponce completed resident training at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital Family Medicine Residency program in summer 2009. While there he served as Chief Resident and resident representative for the Ethics Committee and

ICU Curriculum Committee; and was awarded Resident of the Year. Dr. Ponce received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed graduate studies for a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology

from The George Washington University. His undergraduate studies were at the University of Maryland where he received a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Physiology. Dr. Ponce also excelled in extra curricular studies as a Research

Fellow with the National Cancer Institute. He received a research award from the Food & Drug Administration at the Joint Institute for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.

Dr. Ponce, Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, is a member of the American Association of Family Physicians, American MedicalAssociation, the Texas Academy of Family Physicians and the Harris County Medical Society. He enjoys spending time boating, skiing and traveling. Dr. Ponce, his wife and daughter reside in League City, Texas.
